4th April 2020

Hi Shreya,

As per our discussion, we completed the report intepretation and narrowed down on you pursuing Government Services - Civil Services and having Business Management as a back up career path in case Civil services do not work for you.

Considering a dearth of Arts colleges in Hoshiarpur, you continue 11th and 12th Commerce in your school - college itself - elective like economics/without maths, post which you can go to Chandigarh to pursue your other studies.

Since Science is ruled out and so is Medical studies, you can focus on these two road maps for your career.

  1. For Civil Services/ UPSC, you need to finish your graduation in any stream and then prepare for the entrance of the competitive exam, there are various levels to it.
  2. For Business Management, you can do courses like BBA, BBM, BMS for graduation and even consider going abroad for your Masters, after a work experience of 2-3 years.

For now, focus on scoring well in your 12th to get admissions in a good college, which can decide the course of your career, whichever decided.

22nd April 2020

Hi Prathamesh,

As per our Career Counselling discussion, we spoke of the various career clusters and paths best suited for you, as per your personality, interests and skills.

Since you mentioned your interest in pursuing Medical studies, we did evaluate the feasibility and suitability of the same as per your report.

Health Sciences is definitely one of your top career clusters, which implies that you are very much suited for this career path and can definitely go ahead and pursue the same.

It was mutually decided that you will take up Science (PCB) for your 11th and 12th stream, post which you could go ahead and prepare for NEET examination and pursue your medical studies in the city of your choice and depending on your scores.

We even discussed the way to go about your NEET preparation. Do let me know in case of any queries. We can keep discussing it at regular intervals.

Do focus on getting a preparation plan/strategy going so that you have enough time to work towards your goal.

Good Luck!

23rd April 2020

Hi Kaivalya,

As per our discussion, we talked about the various career clusters and paths best suited for you as per your natural skills and abilities, your personality and your strengths.

Since you mentioned your interest in Aviation and Designing, we spoke of the feasibility and possibilities of the same.

Will be sharing more information on Designing as a career for you to get a better understanding. As oer your Father's request, will also be sending you a little information on SSC as well.

We have still kept your stream option open, since I want you to take sometime evaluating your options once you go through the report and then probably have a discussion based on your clarity on which path you would be keen on taking.

Good Luck!

Also, see if you want to read any of these books, would be valuable.

1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo – A modern masterpiece, this allegorical novel delivers a wonderful message on finding your purpose in life and being more grateful for the things around you.  Through the travels of Santiago, a shepherd boy, we learn the wisdom of listening to our hearts.

2. The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale – One of the greats, this practical work teaches the critical importance of one’s attitude in attaining goals, overcoming defeat, and living the good life.

3. Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde – A sentimental matter with a gritty core and a less-than-happy ending, this novel demonstrates the incredible power of random acts of kindness and the impact of all the little things we do.

4. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom – This memoir gives a touching perspective on the things that really matter and what true happiness looks like.

5. The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason – A classic. There may be no better book at teaching the importance of saving for the future and the power of compound interest.

6. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie – No book has ever been written that does a better job of communicating the importance of empathy and putting ourselves in the shoes of others.

7. OutliersThe Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell – A fascinating read that offers an important perspective on utilizing our unique abilities in alignment with the timing and circumstances of our lives.

8. The Freedom Writers Diary: How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them by The Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell – A raw, true story of an English teacher and her “at-risk” students who took a transforming journey against intolerance. This book inspires us to share our own stories and open our minds to embrace the differences among us.

9. 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey – Applying the timeless principles of the 7 Habits, this step-by-step book explains to teens how to be more efficient and helps guide their future decisions.

10. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – Another classic!  Although a challenging read, a teen who gets through this book will not only understand the power of high expectations, but the importance of finding his or her passion in life.

Hi Kezia,

As per our discussion, we talked about the various career clusters and career paths best suited for you.

Since you mentioned your interest and keenness on pursuing your studies in Psychology, we discussed the feasibility of the same. We also spoke of the possibility of you looking into Mass Media as well as an option, details of which i will share with you.

I will be sharing with you details on BA Psychology and the top colleges for the same in Mumbai as well.

For now, do not worry about your Commerce stream being a hindrance for you to pursue a career in Counselling Psychology. You can definitely brush up on the concepts from 11th and 12th Arts syllabus now, since you have the time.

You can go ahead and pursue BA in Psychology, practice for couple of years for work experience and then go ahead and pursue your Masters in the same or any specific field of interest.

Good Luck!

In order to pursue CA studies, you will have to take up Commerce as the stream for 11th and 12th. As for Engineering studies, you will have to take up Science - PCM for your 11th and 12th.

Good Luck!

29th April 2020

Hi Manik,

As per our discussion, we talked about the career clusters suitable for you and also checked if the course you are pursuing currently - BBA is suitable for you.

The course is definitely suitable for you. So, you can go ahead and complete your graduation in the same, with no need for shift. Also, after your graduation you could look at either preparing for UPSC exams or Railways exams or could even look at working for couple of years to gain work experience and then pursue your MBA in India or abroad.

For now, you will need to focus on your BBA course and also work on improving your public speaking skills.

By the last year of BBA, you can look at the subject of specialisation, as per your interest and also look at the feasibility of starting preparation for Civil Services.

Good Luck!

Mishka’s Personality (MBTI Personality Type) is Introvert + Sensing + Feeling + Judging (ISFJ).

Some Key Traits of Mishka’s Personality:

STRENGTHS:

Supportive – Mishka is a universal helper, sharing her knowledge, experience, time and energy with anyone who needs it, and all the more so with friends and family. Mishka strives for win-win situations, choosing empathy over judgment whenever possible.

Reliable and Patient – Rather than offering sporadic, excited rushes that leave things half finished, Mishka is meticulous and careful, taking a steady approach and adapting according to the needs of the situation just enough to accomplish the end goals.

Imaginative and Observant – Mishka is very imaginative, and uses this quality as an accessory to empathy, observing others’ emotional states and seeing things from their perspective. With her feet firmly planted on the ground, she has a very practical imagination, though she may find things quite fascinating and inspiring.

Enthusiastic – When the goal is right, Mishka takes all this support, reliability and imagination and applies it to something she believes will make a difference in people’s lives – whether fighting poverty with a global initiative or simply making life better for someone.

Loyal and Hard-Working – Given a little time, this enthusiasm grows into loyalty – Mishka often forms an emotional attachment to the ideas and organizations she has dedicated herself to. Mishka meets all her obligations with good, hard work.

Good Practical Skills – Mishka has the practical sense to actually do something with all this positive concern. If mundane, routine tasks are what need to be done, Mishka can find the beauty and harmony that they create, because she knows that it helps her to care for her friends, family, and anyone else who needs it.

WEAKNESSES

Humble and Shy – This is possibly Mishka’s biggest challenge, as she is so concerned with others’ feelings that she may refuse to make her thoughts known, or to take any duly earned credit for her contributions. Mishka has very high standards for herself and therefore, knowing she could have done some minor aspect of a task better, she may often downplay her successes entirely.

Take Things Too Personally – Mishka may have trouble separating personal and impersonal situations – any situation is still an interaction between two people, after all – and any negativity from conflict or criticism can carry over from her professional to her personal life, and back again.

Ajmal’s Personality (MBTI Personality Type) is Introvert + Sensing + Feeling + Perceiving (ISFP).

Some Key Traits of Ajmal’s Personality:

STRENGTHS:

Charming – Ajmal appears to be relaxed and warm, and has a “live and let live” attitude naturally which makes him likable and popular.

Sensitive to Others – Ajmal easily relates to others’ emotions, helping them to establish harmony and goodwill, and minimize conflict.

Imaginative – Being so aware of others’ emotions, Ajmal uses creativity and insight to craft bold ideas that speak to people’s hearts. While it’s hard to explain this quality on a resume, this vivid imagination and exploratory spirit helps Ajmal in unexpected ways.

Passionate – Beneath Ajmal’s quiet shyness beats an intensely feeling heart. When Ajmal gets caught up in something exciting and interesting, he can leave everything else in the dust.

Curious – Ideas are well and good, but Ajmal needs to see and explore for himself whether his ideas ring true. Work revolving around the sciences may seem a poor match for his traits, but a boldly artistic and humanistic vision is often exactly what research needs to move forward – if Ajmal is given the freedom he needs to do so.

WEAKNESSES

Fiercely Independent – Freedom of expression is often Ajmal’s top priority. Anything that interferes with that, like traditions and hard rules, creates a sense of oppression for him. This can make more rigidly structured academics and work a challenge.

Unpredictable – Ajmal dislikes long-term commitments and plans. The tendency to actively avoid planning for the future can cause strain later in life.

Easily Stressed – Ajmal lives in the present, full of emotion. When situations get out of control, (especially Turbulent ones) there is a risk of shutting down, losing his characteristic charm and creativity in favour of gnashing teeth.

Overly Competitive – Ajmal can escalate small things into intense competitions, turning down long-term success in his search for glory in the moment, and maybe unhappy when he loses.

Fluctuating Self-Esteem – It’s demanded that skills be quantified, but that’s hard to do with Ajmal’s strengths of sensitivity and artistry. When Ajmal’s efforts are often dismissed, this could be a hurtful and damaging blow, especially early in life. Ajmal may start to believe the naysayers without strong support.
